Financial Feasibility Studies

Independent feasibility studies for capital projects, market entries and acquisitions — built to survive a credit committee or board challenge.

A feasibility study is only useful if a sceptical reader cannot dismantle it. We build studies for the sceptical reader — usually a credit committee, a board sub-committee or an external investor — so that the sponsor walks in with the answer to the second question, not just the first.

When clients come to us

Before a board commits material capital. Before a bank confirms a lending appetite. Before a strategic partner formalises terms. The decision is often time-pressured: the sponsor team has done the operational work but needs an independent financial view that holds up under challenge. We are also asked in when an internal feasibility has been written and the board wants a second opinion.

How we work

A senior partner scopes the study with the sponsor and agrees the questions the study must answer. We then build the underlying analysis — market sizing, cost build-up, capital structure, sensitivities — and write a study that takes a position. We do not produce documents that sit on the fence. Where the answer is "do not proceed", we say so.

What we deliver

  • Independent feasibility report with executive summary
  • Underlying financial model with documented assumptions
  • Sensitivity and scenario analysis pack
  • Risk register with mitigation commentary
  • Funding-structure recommendation
  • Board-ready presentation, in person if required

Typical engagement

A feasibility study runs six to twelve weeks depending on data access. On our side, a senior advisor leads with a modelling analyst. On the client side, the project sponsor and CFO are the principal counterparts, with the board briefed at the close. The deliverable is dated, signed and intended to stand on its own.

Why CGLA

We are independent of contractors, vendors and lenders, which means the recommendation is not pre-shaped by another party's interest. The senior advisor signing the study is the one who built it. That is unusual in a market where feasibility work is often subcontracted layers below the named partner.
